A small crystal shop on Penn Avenue, built on community, connection and a lot of love for stones.
Doing What We Love, Every Day
The Gem on Penn opened in West Reading in June 2021. Before we opened, we asked our followers which crystals, gemstones and minerals they wanted to see in the shop.
Five years on, the shop is full of jewelry, gemstones, crystals, art and gifts. We buy at the Tucson Gem Show, and if you're looking for something specific, ask us. We can shop for you.

We go to the source
We travel to the Tucson Gem Show to buy for our shelves, and while we're there we can look for the stone you're searching for.
From rough points to rings
Raw clusters and geodes, smooth tumbled stones, and gemstones set in sterling silver rings, pendants and earrings.
What you make with them
Our customers turn their stones into mirrors, dreamcatchers and more. In our words: “We LOVE seeing what you make with the crystals and gems you get from us!”

We open our first shop on Penn Ave and hold a grand opening on June 26.

The first West Reading Holistic Health & Crystal Crawl: 8 local stores, with The Gem as a starting point.
